Getting started

How do I get SelfRoute?

SelfRoute is currently in private TestFlight testing, not publicly available in the App Store. Existing invited testers can install or update it through Apple’s TestFlight app. There is no public download link yet.

How do I connect my Tesla?
  1. Open SelfRoute and sign in with Apple.
  2. Choose Connect Tesla during onboarding. Sign in on Tesla’s official authorization page and grant access to the vehicle you want to use.
  3. Return to SelfRoute and select your vehicle if you have more than one. Complete any vehicle-key setup the app requests.
  4. Continue to your route. SelfRoute never asks you to enter a Tesla password directly into the app.

Vehicle availability depends on Tesla authorization and the supported vehicle configuration. If access was revoked, reconnect through Settings.

How do I use addresses from ChatGPT, Claude, or a spreadsheet?

Copy the full addresses, open Bulk import in SelfRoute, and paste one address per line. Remove bullets, numbering, and extra commentary before adding the list. Review the destinations, arrange your stops, then tap Send to Tesla for each next destination. Copy and paste works today; direct AI imports through MCP are a local developer preview. See the AI and MCP guide.

How many addresses can I add?

A manual route supports up to 500 stops. Add addresses individually, paste one address per line, or import through the software integration API. Arrange stops in your preferred order and save your route for reuse. Imported routes appear in Saved routes.

What does route optimization do?

For routes with 3–20 stops, SelfRoute can propose an order based on estimated driving time. Review the proposal before applying it. Routes above 20 stops use your manual order. This is separate from Tesla’s native navigation and charging planning.

Sending destinations

Does SelfRoute send the whole route at once?

No. SelfRoute keeps your full route and sends one destination at a time. Tap Send to Tesla for the next stop. After arrival, mark the stop complete and send the next. A 500-stop route is not a single Tesla navigation request.

Does the vehicle need to be awake?

Tesla must be reachable to receive the command. A sleeping or offline vehicle may need time to become available. Follow the app’s status message; check vehicle connectivity if delivery cannot be confirmed. You do not need to start driving to send a destination.

What does “Tesla accepted” mean?

Tesla’s API accepted the navigation command. It does not confirm that you arrived or prove which destination is visible on the car’s screen. Check the vehicle display before you begin driving.

What does “Delivery unknown” mean?

The app could not establish whether the command was delivered. Check the car’s navigation display first: the destination may already be there. Avoid repeatedly sending while an operation is still pending. If nothing appears, check connection and retry when the app allows it.

How does Apple Watch work?

Install the SelfRoute companion from the Watch app on your paired iPhone, then complete pairing from SelfRoute’s Apple Watch settings. Keep the iPhone app signed in. The Watch lets you use the saved route and send the next destination without entering every address again.

Are stops marked complete automatically?

No. You mark arrival explicitly. “Completed” reflects that action, not automatic location tracking. SelfRoute does not steer, brake, accelerate, or operate Autopilot or Full Self-Driving.

Membership & account

How much does SelfRoute cost?

The planned annual membership is US$99 per year, with a 3-day free trial for eligible subscribers. It renews automatically through Apple. Your local price and trial eligibility appear before purchase. Private TestFlight access may differ from public-release access.

How do I cancel a trial or subscription?

On iPhone, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → SelfRoute, then choose cancellation. Cancel at least 24 hours before a free trial ends to avoid being charged. Deleting the app or your SelfRoute account does not cancel an Apple subscription. See Apple’s cancellation instructions.

How do I restore a purchase?

Use Restore Purchases on SelfRoute’s membership screen while signed into the Apple Account used for the purchase. If the membership is still missing, check its status in Apple subscription settings and send TestFlight feedback with the app build number. Never include passwords or payment details.

How do I disconnect Tesla or delete my account?

Open SelfRoute Settings to disconnect Tesla or use the account deletion option. Disconnecting removes SelfRoute’s connection; it does not delete your Tesla account. Account deletion removes your SelfRoute account and associated app data. Cancel Apple subscriptions separately. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Software, CRM & AI imports

Can my CRM create routes?

Yes. Sign in with Apple and create a scoped key under Settings → Software & AI connections (CRM & API in earlier builds). Your server or automation platform can import routes and read progress for routes imported with that exact key. Importing never sends a destination to your car automatically. See the complete API documentation.

Why does an imported route not appear?

Confirm your integration received HTTP 201 or an HTTP 200 replay response. Open Saved routes in SelfRoute or return to the app from the background. Make sure the API key belongs to the same SelfRoute account. Existing selected routes and unsaved edits are preserved rather than replaced by imports.

Still need help?

Email support@selfroute.app for help with SelfRoute.

During private testing, open SelfRoute in TestFlight and choose Send Beta Feedback. Include your app build, iPhone or Watch model, the steps taken, and the exact error. Do not include API keys, passwords, tokens, or unnecessary personal addresses.
